You chose to move the main clause to the front and then attach the participle phrase to the end, like this:

Brave Vanessa dipped the tortilla chip into Pedro's infamous hot sauce scooting the glass of iced tea closer to her plate.

Unfortunately, you need punctuation when you attach this participle phrase. Review the rules.
